Stockinette is a knitted tubular fabric made from cotton, polyester cotton, or rayon yarn.

In the meat industry it is commonly used as carcass bags for export lamb, pork and beef.

Many meat processors also use Stockinette bags to cook full bone-in leg hams and additionally, they can be used to keep hams fresh while kept in the fridge at home.
